Just a study buddy.

Remus knelt forward to help Astraea gather her books. However, the duo’s simultaneous actions caused them to hit their heads together. Remus held his head with his palm and looked up at her only to find her lips an inch away from his.

“I’m so-orry” He slurred very softly.

He looked right into her eyes and did not bat an eyelid. Her curls fell on her face perfectly. Remus quickly moved away and sat up straight. The long pause was questionable. He’s such a weird fellow! she must have thought. Before she could even utter a word, He rattled on.
“Oh dear! It must be those wrackspurts again!” He said with a chuckle.

The two of them continued their revision.

Remus had never been that close in contact with the opposite gender, exceptional to his mother. He liked Astraea. But, he was just too shy to speak up for his feelings. That is his social problem. A weird and socially awkward teenager as people perceive him, but he was more than that. Remus was not just about the books and his circle of friends. He was friendly and compassionate. He wanted someone else, besides the Marauders and Lily, to understand him in that way.

→ Astraea Moon: Just a study buddy.

Remus turned to chance upon Astraea Moon. Clad in her robes and her hands stacked with books, he stood up and went to her aid. He helped her with her books and organised them neatly next to his. Her hair was ruffled here and there and he was drawn to her eyes. Her eyes were like crystals under the Great Hall’s dim yellow lights. He did not hear a word she had said. The only thing he could fathom was her natural beauty and “wrackspurts”.

“What exactly are those…” Remus said as he simultaneously delivered a chuckle, attempting to make her laugh.

Remus was inclined to Astraea more than he could even imagine. She was funny and honest. He was glad to have forged a friendship with her and he subconsciously congratulated himself for having the guts to speak with her the other day.

Smiling from ear to ear, Remus continued taking down notes as they both settled down in silence. All of a sudden, the pile of books stacked in front of them toppled down, making a loud thud which drew everyone’s attention to the Gryffindor table.

@Astraea Moon: Just a study buddy

Remus strode into the Great Hall right after Transfiguration. He was trudging along with his hands occupied with books. His wand was sticking out of his belt. It was smearing upon his stomach. Clearly, you could tell that he did not want to be late for something. It was his study date with Astraea Moon at 4 pm. He was hoping to arrive earlier than her. Wanting to appear as a humble man, he ran for it.

He let out a sigh of relief when he failed to make her out from the crowd at the Great Hall. He took a seat at the Gryffindor table and laid out his materials. He pulled out a parchment out of his stack of books and began reading and taking down notes. The Great Hall was definitely teeming with students. But, it was unbelievably quiet. They were all focused and drowning themselves in their books.

Just then, he heard someone shout his name.

Remus was slightly bumped that the shrieking shack was out of the question. However, the Room of Requirements was a brilliant idea. Everything about the room was perfect for what they were about to do. He got out a pen and a piece of parchment. He placed it on the coffee table and stood up.

“Let’s start training tomorrow. We’ll keep this discreet. No one should find out about this, especially the Slytherins. This army has to be united. Its best we know each other well enough and keep count. Before leaving, please sign off your name on this parchment.” Remus was exuberant and the adrenaline rush through his veins made him rattle on and on about how they all had to behave as a team.

As soon as he was done sharing his piece of mind with the army, he sat back down with his eye glued to the parchment. He then exchanged glances with a few of the members and smiled.

Lily let out a small smile in Remus’ direction when he started rambling about teamwork and unity and whatever else it was he was saying. No one seemed to be really paying him much mind. Remus had the tendency to go on about things, though, and Lily was pretty much used to it. Sometimes she thought that doing that made things easier for him because it gave him a chance to let loose- after all, most of the time, he was hardly the kind of person to take a break and relax.

Everyone’s enthusiasm toward the idea of forming a group to help protect themselves was heartening, and Lily was glad that there were even a few purebloods who had okay-ed the idea. She was surprised that they would want to get involved when they could easily avoid having to, but was happy that they had chosen to help. The more people in it the better- after all, Marlene wouldn’t be able to teach everyone to duel on her own.

She still had some questions, though, about this Room of Requirement that she had honestly heard nothing of prior to it being mentioned earlier. “Hold on,” she said, as people began coming forth to sign the sheet of parchment Remus was holding out. “Where exactly is this Room?”

Molly spoke up again this time, still remaining in her seat as those around her stood up to sign the parchment. “It’s on the seventh floor opposite that tapestry of Barnabas the Barmy.  You won’t see the room unless you really need it, which you do so that shouldn’t be a problem.”

“You simply have to walk past it three times while thinking about what you need and voila, it will open.”  Molly herself had found it one night when she had run out of yarn just before Christmas and had to finish her presents to her friends.

“Fascinating, isn’t it? The Room of Requirements. It really is magical.” Remus let out a sigh of relief and checked the time. It was almost 4 in the morning and they had lessons tomorrow. Not to mention that he had a test! He looked at Lily for a command, since she appeared as the leader of the group.

Remus Lupin: If we don't end war, war will end us.

Mary had been sitting listening the whole time. Nodding favorably with everything that was being suggested here and there. The fact that Death Eaters were starting to practice already scared her, and she thought that learning to fight back was a brilliant idea. She wasn’t exactly sure how much some of them would learn off each other, but Mary knew she would benefit at least. “I like the idea of the this Room of Requirement better then the Shrieking Shack, sorry Remus” Mary shrugged at him with a half smile. She turned her attention back to Marlene, “But I have no idea where it is?” she asked raising her eyebrows.

“It’s on the seventh floor, opposite of the moving tapestry of Barnabas the Barmy. But it’ll just open if we really need it and, well, we do need it, so it’ll surely open. We have to walk past it three times and think about what we need. As long as we’re in it nobody can get into the room. ” Marlene looked at Mary but spoke to everybody. How comes there were only a small amount of people knowing from the room? She always thought everybody knew of it, especially all the Gryffindors since it was nearest their common room.

Remus was slightly bumped that the shrieking shack was out of the question. However, the Room of Requirements was a brilliant idea. Everything about the room was perfect for what they were about to do. He got out a pen and a piece of parchment. He placed it on the coffee table and stood up.

“Yeah well, you’ve might all heard of the Order of the Phoenix?” Marlene looked around and saw confused faces. “Or you haven’t. But that’s okay. Basically the Order are people willing to fight against Lord Voldemort and his Death Eaters to protect the wizarding and the muggle…

Lily beamed. Everyone had been much more receptive than she’d anticipated, and that was fortunate. Some part of her had actually expected everyone to walk off saying they thought she and Marlene were out of their minds. She had anticipated that at least one person would have pointed out that them meeting to train would entail the breaking of at least twenty school rules (Remus, in particular, since he was a stickler for rules), but nobody had.

“Well then,” she said, addressing everyone. “I’m really glad you all want to be part of this! But there is another problem. We’re going to need a place to practice. I suppose we could use the common room, but it’s not going to be easy to smuggle in people from other houses should they wish to join…” Lily’s voice trailed off, as she looked around the room in a bid  to see if anyone held a solution to this.

Honestly, she had no idea what she was doing. It was all very well to ask Marlene to teach her to duel, but trying to form an army? It wasn’t like Lily even had anything to contribute to their little organisation either. She specialised in potions, and unless there was a potion available that would kill only Death Eaters, that skill wouldn’t be of much aid

Lily’s enthusiasm spurred Remus to drop his reputation of sticking to the rules. He wanted to fight this war as much as Lily. The problem they were facing was vital, given the fact that without a training ground, the whole army would falter. To safe-guard the army’s strength, Remus offered the Shrieking Shack.

He failed to think about the consequences of sneaking out of Hogwarts at unearthly hours. Many of them perceived the Shrieking Shack as haunted. They were frightened upon hearing Remus’ solution.

“We can make use of the Shrieking Shack for our training. But, we have to do it when everyone is asleep. We must not be caught, or else, we would be in grave danger. I don’t want to get suspended just before the NEWTS.” Remus rattled on.

Lily Evans: If we don't end war, war will end us.

-mary:

Whispers of a meeting of sorts had fluttered to the blonde’s ears earlier in the day. About what these meetings were to be about she wasn’t exactly sure. But it sounded like it was geared towards students like her, students that were tired of sitting back and watching the war…

Remus chanced upon the clock only to realize he was late for the meeting set by Lily. He hurried down in his jumper and blanket. He stumbled upon Lily and Mary, who were in a deep conversation. The duo failed to bat an eye with regards to his sudden presence. It was just the three of them and Remus was some sort of intangible presence at that moment.

“Hello. Has the meeting commenced?” he said, as he arranged his blanket over the furniture and nestled in, making himself comfortable.

Remus was delighted that Lily initiated the meeting. But, the turn-up was rather disappointing.
